The objective at this level is to solidify cursive process patterns throughout the school year. The first unit of instruction is a combination of review and size reduction from gross-motor, second grade size to third grade application size for the transition to cursive writing. The focus is based on practice of fluent movement and continued effort to improve rhythm patterns and control.

The application
and self-evaluation process is easily correlated with any language program
so that practice can be applied to daily activities without a complex
scope and sequence chart. Handwriting skill objectives go directly to language,
science, social studies, etc. using a unique approach called cursive print.
This Peterson technique for correlation allows application of rhythmic
movement in a way that students can understand and use easily. Six process
skills can be individually targeted and treated on applied work to stimulate
transfer of learning. It is easy to help your student to select specific
goals for improved legibility.
